Specialty Surgical Services Now Available at New Tampa Animal Hospital!

We are excited to announce that New Tampa Animal Hospital is now offering specialty surgical services! Through our collaboration with board-certified veterinary surgeon Dr. Colby Burns, we can provide advanced surgical procedures right here at our hospital, allowing pets to receive specialized care in a familiar environment.

Meet Dr. Colby Burns

Dr. Colby Burns is a highly skilled and compassionate veterinary surgeon with over a decade of experience performing advanced surgical procedures throughout the Tampa area.

A Florida native, Dr. Burns earned both her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees from the University of Florida. She continued her training with a one-year rotating internship at Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine, followed by a three-year surgical residency at The Ohio State University.

Dr. Burns holds dual board certifications in small animal surgery and canine sports medicine and rehabilitation. Having performed thousands of mobile surgical procedures, she brings extensive experience in orthopedic, soft tissue, and emergency surgery.

Through this collaboration, Dr. Burns will travel to New Tampa Animal Hospital to perform specialty surgical procedures, expanding the care we can provide to our patients.
